Five steps
Call the park office
Tell us what has happened and when you hope to hold the burial. We will hold a time for the interment and tell you what we need. If you already own a lot, have the contract number ready.
Get the death certificate
The attending physician or the municipal health officer signs the certificate of death; it is registered with the Local Civil Registrar. Your funeral home usually helps with this.
Gather the documents
Each kind of interment has its own list. The requirements checklist below is printable — bring the originals and one photocopy of each.
Settle the interment arrangements
At the office we confirm the lot, the date and the time, the services you want (tent, chairs, sound system), and the fees. Lot ownership must be in good standing.
The day of the interment
Arrive at least 30 minutes early with the funeral home. Our staff will guide the procession to the lot and prepare the grave; the family is free to pray and stay as long as they need.
Honouring our traditions
Filipino mourning has its own rhythm. The park keeps to it with you.
The wake (lamay)
Family and friends keep vigil, usually for three to seven nights, praying the rosary and sharing food. Tell us the planned burial date early so the interment can be scheduled.
The novena (pasiyam)
Nine days of prayer, beginning on the day of death or of burial. Many families end the novena with a visit to the grave; the grounds are open every day.
The 40th day (babang luksa begins)
On the 40th day the family gathers for a Mass and a meal, traditionally marking when the soul completes its journey. Families often clean and decorate the grave for it — you can order this if you cannot come.
The first anniversary (babang luksa)
The first death anniversary ends the formal year of mourning. Families gather at the grave; the marker is often installed or unveiled by then.
